Muslim man hacked to death by Hindus in Uttar Pradesh
In BJP-ruled Uttar Pradesh’s Ghaziabad, three Hindu men hacked a Muslim man to death with an axe. The victim, Momeen Khan, was violently attacked by the men while sleeping. Khan’s brother has claimed that he was targeted over raising a religious slogan.
Police open fire at alleged “cattle smuggler,” victims sustain bullet wound
In Uttar Pradesh’s Kanpur, police fired gunshots at an alleged “cattle smuggler,” who sustained a bullet injury in his leg.
The incident is the latest in an ongoing trend of violent attacks against predominantly Muslim cattle traders by law enforcement. Over the last few months, multiple such injuries have occurred due to police firing.
Hindu militant groups openly advocate for anti-Muslim violence
In Bahraich, Uttar Pradesh, the Hindu militant groups Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) and Bajrang Dal organized a hate event, during which speakers called for anti-Muslim violence. In Dehradun, Uttarakhand, Bajrang Dal leader Vikas Varma fear-mongered against Indian Christians at a Hindu supremacist event.
In Kushinagar, Uttar Pradesh, a Hindu supremacist group leader gave a speech promoting hatred against Muslims. In Jamui, Bihar, social media influencer Khushbu Pandey promoted anti-Muslim conspiracy theories during a speech. In Khargone, Madhya Pradesh, Hindu supremacist poet Ram Bhadawar recited an anti-Muslim poem and called on mosques to chant the Hindu supremacist warcry “Jai Sri Ram”.
