Muslim beggar violently assaulted while seeking alms in Uttar Pradesh

In yet another disturbing anti-Muslim hate crime, an elderly Muslim beggar was violently attacked while seeking alms in Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-ruled Uttar Pradesh’s Amethi.

A Hindu man attacked the beggar and hurled abuses at him. “You Muslims have no right to be here,” the man can be heard yelling in a video of the incident.

Hindu supremacists put up boards stating religion of vendors in Himachal Pradesh

In Himachal Pradesh’s Sanjauli, a Hindu supremacist organization installed boards outside shops owned by Hindus, explicitly stating the religion of the vendor, in order to identify and boycott Muslim vendors. One such board read “Sanatan Sabji Wala” (Hindu vegetable vender).

Recently, in Solan, shops rented out by Muslims were marked with red paint during an anti-Muslim rally.

Non-Hindu food vendors to be banned from largest Hindu festival

In a move that would result in economic losses and a social boycott of Muslims, a Hindu religious authority has declared that it will ban food stalls of non-Hindu businessmen during the Kumbh festival in BJP-ruled Uttar Pradesh’s Prayagraj. Kumbh is the largest Hindu festival that takes place once every 12 years, attracting over 50 million pilgrims.

Hindu militants call for ID checks to keep Muslims away from Hindu celebrations

The Hindu militant group, Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP), has called for mandatory ID checks at Hindu festivals in Telangana’s Hyderabad, in order to verify participants’ religious backgrounds. They also urged attendees to wear markers of Hindu identity, like a tilak (vermillion) on their foreheads and a kalva (red thread) on their wrists for easy identification.

Hindu militants have been intruding Hindu festival celebrations to harass and police Muslims, baselessly claiming that Muslim men join them to indulge in “love jihad.”
