Hindu militant group conducts weapons training in BJP-ruled Uttar Pradesh
In far-right Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-ruled Uttar Pradesh’s Kanpur, Hindu militant group Bajrang Dal organized a weapon training event for its members.
During the past week, across BJP-ruled states, Hindu militant groups have been conducting weapons training events for members, including minors. Hindu extremists including women were also seen in military-style street marches flaunting guns and pistols, while raising hateful slogans.
Police suppress pro-Palestine protest, detain 15 student activists in Bengaluru
Police in Karnataka’s Bengaluru suppressed a pro-Palestine protest and detained 15 activists.
The activists have said that the police assaulted them, including by beating a female student.
With India’s Hindu right fully in support of Israel, officials have been targeting those who support and protest in favor of Palestine, subjecting them to police brutality and arrests. Meanwhile, Hindu extremists have been organizing pro-Israel rallies and religious events without facing any legal action.
Hindu extremists vandalize truck over suspicion of cattle transport
In BJP-ruled Madhya Pradesh’s Chattarpur, Hindu extremist cow vigilantes vandalized a truck over suspicion of transporting cattle.
Last week, in Gujarat, a Muslim man was attacked and lynched to death by Hindu extremist cow vigilantes while he was on his way to a relative’s house with two buffaloes. Hindu militant mobs have increasingly been targeting Muslims over baseless accusations of committing crimes. These mobs, also known as cow vigilantes, attack and often lynch Muslims accused of transporting cattle or consuming beef.
