Indian Americans in Bay Area and Dallas to denounce Islamophobia, illegal arrests, and demolition of Muslim homes in India
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
WASHINGTON, DC (June 17, 2022) – Indian American communities across the country are holding protests in response to the increasing amount of violent and deadly attacks on Muslim lives, false imprisonment of Muslims, and the destruction of Muslim homes in India under the Modi/BJP regime.
Just last week, two teenage Muslim boys were fatally shot by police during a protest against a now former BJP spokesperson’s hateful remarks against the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). On June 11, prominent Muslim activist Afreen Fatima’s parents and younger sister were falsely arrested, and their home was demolished with less than a day’s notice on accusations that it was built illegally.

The protest will take place at the intersection of Paseo Padre & Stevenson Blvd. in Fremont, CA.
