Book by Hindu supremacist whitewashes gang rape and murder of Muslim minor

A new book written by a Hindu supremacist author has drawn severe criticism for completely disrespecting and whitewashing the death an 8-year-old Muslim girl who was brutally gang-raped and murdered by Hindu extremists.

The author, Madhu Kishwar, is a former academic who is notorious for her anti-Muslim views. The launch event of the book, titled “The Girl from Kathua: A Sacrificial Victim of Ghazwa-e-Hind,”  was attended by prominent lawmakers and army officials.

In January 2018, an 8-year-old Muslim girl named Asifa was abducted in Jammu and Kashmir state by Hindu extremists. The abductors imprisoned her for a week in a temple, where she was starved, drugged and gang-raped repeatedly before being murdered.

The attempts to file a complaint against the accused at a local court were repeatedly blocked and followed by violent protests in the rapists’ defense by extremist groups aligned with the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). Two BJP ministers attended the protests, urging the crowd to obstruct the prosecution of the accused.

Activists and citizens on social media have responded with outrage, expressing anger and disgust over attempts to whitewash the crime.

Officials demolish Islamic seminary, portion of 250yo mosque in Delhi

Officials in the capital city of Delhi demolished an Islamic seminary that catered mostly to underprivileged Muslim children. Portions of a 250-year-old mosque were also razed.

The officials claimed that the seminary had to be demolished in order to widen the road. However, mosque authorities say that they received no prior notice for the demolition.

In recent months, Hindu extremist administrations have targeted Muslim-owned homes, stores, and spaces of worship in demolition drives across India. Hindu supremacist authorities have used flimsy justifications of “illegal encroachment” and road widening to target the properties of religious minorities.

Hindu militant leader accused of Muslim murder, back with violent social media posts

Hindu militant leader Monu Manesar, who was listed as the prime accused in a brutal mob lynching case until Hindu supremacists threatened police into dropping his name, has re-appeared on social media with more violent anti-Muslim content.

The two Muslim victims of the lynching, Junaid and Nasir, were brutally attacked and burned alive in BJP-ruled Haryana state over false suspicions of cow theft. Manesar, who has posted several videos of Muslims being attacked and beaten on YouTube, is part of the violent Hindu militant group Bajrang Dal. He has also been involved in several cow vigilante attacks.

While police claimed that he is on the run, almost a month later he reactivated his YouTube channel by posting more videos of violence against innocent Muslims.

These videos have come to light despite the fact that the Haryana government had directed districts to set up a special committee to crack down on vigilante activity.
