80 Dalit-owned homes set ablaze in Bihar
In Bihar’s Nawada, around 80 homes owned by Dalits were set ablaze, allegedly over a land dispute. Miscreants torched the houses one by one, creating panic in the area. No injuries have been reported so far.
The incident has drawn sharp reactions from political leaders who have condemned the attack, accusing the far-right Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and its allies of neglecting the Dalit community.

Muslim food vendor harassed for not displaying his religious identity
In BJP-ruled Uttarakhand’s Dehradun, a Muslim fast food vendor was harassed for not mentioning that his menu included halal meat, as a means of identifying his religious identity.
A leader of the Hindu militant group Bajrang Dal, Vikas Verma Bhagwa, justified the harassment by claiming that a Sikh family ate at the food joint and allegedly realized the meat was halal only after seeing the Muslim vendor’s name on the payment app while paying.
Hindu extremists demand to see mosque’s paperwork, harass Muslims living nearby
In BJP-ruled Uttarakhand’s Pithoragarh, Hindu extremist groups demanded to see the legal paperwork of a mosque and harassed Muslim families living nearby, alleging that the mosque was illegally built.
Recently, Hindu extremists also called for the demolition of a 75-year-old mosque in Uttarkashi, despite authorities rejecting their demand and claiming that the mosque was legal.
